Tuttle Creek Interpretive Center

Spring 2019

Manhattan, KS

The goal of this project is to connect visitors with the local environment through an experiential filtering process that begins on the car ride over and ends when they arrive home. Throughout the site, inside, and out of the building, visitors are filtered, helping them gain an understanding of Tuttle Creek through interior and exterior educational exhibitions in sequence with the architecture. The intention /”thesis” of this project is to create these experiences by tapping into the “human animal” that man is. As other animals design and build their dwellings, designing as an anatomical response to the conditions at hand.
